Summary: British and Greek naval forces put ashore elements of the 3rd Corps at Piraeus.
Description: LSs over smallcraft of the invasion fleet lying offshore in the low light of early morning. Cameraman goes ashore in a Z-lighter, passing the Greek FT 13, LCI(L) 240 and the Fairmile B ML 860 - local dockyard men take a line. A Greek naval caique goes alongside. Troops disembark from Z-lighter Z 81. British troops march off, applauded by local inhabitants. Film then cuts to LS of Piraeus from the sea - HMS Beaufort (L.14) is anchored in the foreground. LS from cruiser at sea (possibly the flagship Orion) to a second cruiser astern and destroyers in line ahead - jeeps are parked on the quarterdeck and the focsle is crowded with troops. Greek motor minesweeper Salaminia and the landing craft FT 15 pass the cameraship. Dawn sky. LS from the quayside to two caiques lying offshore - in the background is a boom defence vessel. MS of FT 13 as it passes cameraship. LS as two Fairmile B motor launches head inshore.
