Description: I. Landing at Surabaya of 49th Indian Brigade, 25 October, 1945. LS broad on the starboard quarter of the Japanese torpedo boat Kiji at sea. Cameraship and companion pass through line of blockships, passing close to the Dutch coast defence ship Soerabaja sunk in shallow water. CUs of a derelict merchantman alongside in the naval base.
II. Evacuation of Dutch women and children. HA.LS from bows of LST aft along deck crowded with evacuees. Cut to HMS Bulolo, the headquarters ship to which the evacuees were transferred - the children play in a small swimming pool rigged up on deck.
III. Continuation of episode I. Camera on LST in convoy approaching Surabaya. LSs to shoreline. LSs of other transports in the harbour - Queen Emma Class LSI(M) and two-funnel steamer, possibly Edinburgh Castle. LS to a warehouse bearing the painted slogan WE DONT WANT FOREIGN DOMINATION.
