Summary: The Prime Minister visits HMS London to watch with the Senior Officer Middle East (SNOME) as the British Task Group steams past in review.
Description: The Prime Minister and his party are greeted as they deplane from Sea King. Cut to senior ratings' mess (?) where the Prime Minister decorates a Petty Officer (Cook) with a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal - Mr Major says a few graceful words about the cook's importance within the service. Petty Officer (Steward) Parkinson is also decorated. A line of Petty Officers and ratings are presented to the Prime Minister by Captain Henderson. Cut to MS of the Prime Minister and SNOME Commodore Craig standing forward on 03 deck watching the steam past of the British Task Group - frigates and destroyers followed by minesweepers - Captain Henderson joins them. Their conversation is lost in wind effects. MS from 03 deck as Lynx closes and RM detachment give a demonstration of roping down onto London's forecastle. Cut to bridge interior - Major smooths his wind-ruffled hair in preparation for an interview. Departing Major and party return to the Sea King parked aft, and helicopter runs up to take off.
