Description: I. CUs of survivors in a liferaft at sea. Man on watch ducks inside from doorway, and shakes his head negatively - the men look discouraged. Scene repeated for different effect - an animated discussion ensues, but the mens' sobriety is restored as they are addressed by a reclining (therefore presumably injured) man. Cigarette ration is served out - older man holds forth to the rest of the party. Man helped into raft from the sea.
II. Abandoning ship. Men in lifejackets launch a liferaft from the quarterdeck of a Type 15 anti-submarine frigate - thick smoke billows back across the screen - HA.MS to tethered raft as it inflates. MS forward along portside from a position close under the quarter - the ship is stationary, generating clouds of dense funnel smoke. Men on top of ATW deck house jettison a liferaft - camera pans down to raft in the sea - a second raft is thrown in - as the first inflates, it largely fills the screen.
III. Interior CU in liferaft as two survivors sit cranking a radio generator.
