- Description: I. Boatwork. HA.MS aft from starboard bridge wing on HMS Grafton, underway at sea, as crew man and turn out a 27 ft whaler. Cut to Grafton with the way off her - the whaler is lowered and cast off - crew out oars as the whaler drifts off upper frame. II. LA.MS beneath the starboard bow of a Type 14 frigate in dry dock - workman on a lorry-borne hydraulic platform is painting the hull. Deck-level MS of the starboard bow, and HA.MS off the port bow of HMS Loch Fada as she lies in dry dock - a First Class anti-submarine frigate lies in the background. III. MS of HMS Bossington (M.1133) underway streaming sweep, and LA.MS onboard a Ton Class minesweeper, shooting forward from the quarter deck up to the funnel and mast, showing navigational daymarks. IV. Boatwork. HA.MS as frigate's motorboat is lowered from quadrantal davits. V. Sea Venom is lifted from a carrier's deck by the ship's crane. VI. MS sequence as HMS Grafton (F.51) picks up a man at sea - the survivor is thrown a lifebelt to which a smoke marker is attached. (1960) VII. Radar. General view of early 1950's ADR in operation - plotting screen, etc. Cut to ADR on HMS Victorious after her 1955-1958 refit - Sub-Lieutenant IO throws switches on computer - pan to Force AA Weapon Coordinator and back to IO. MS of analysers and operators. HA.MS onto console and operators at work. General MS favouring Semi-Automatic Tote, and pan up to PPI and across to console. Final static shot of ADR with IO in centre screen. (1960)
