Summary: Activities around a Javelin fighter between firing-exercise flights are used to symbolise the workings of the RAF.
Description:The aircraft lands, and is rapidly serviced by groundcrew (guns, radar) as the flight crew take coffee and are briefed for the next sortie. "A matter of minutes" after landing the plane is airborne again, and is seen test-firing its cannon. Back at the base duty crews change and, as the original plane returns, others are standing ready. "Constant rehearsal" makes sure that "if the need ever arises, they can give as good an account of themselves as did their famous predecessors". (The aircraft belong to 41 Squadron).
