Description: I. Ship's whaler. Various shots of 3-in-1 whaler under power in slight sea - Portland breakwater in the background of the opening shot. LS of HMS Grafton (F.51) hove to - whaler enters frame in the foreground to close on the frigate. MLS off Grafton's port bow as the whaler leaves the ship. Cut to MS from 40mm AA position on the starboard side of a Bay Class frigate, shooting outboard - the whaler appears from a position close on the starboard quarter, making away from the ship.
II. HMS Murray (F.91) approaches a mooring buoy in Portland harbour. Whaler is in attendance, carrying a light heaving line from frigate's starboard bow. As Murray approaches (note dents in the bow), the boat's crew leap onto the buoy to secure the line, and throw a second line up to ratings on frigate's focsle - the line misses and falls back. Two Wave Class fleet auxiliaries are anchored in the background.
III. MS from outboard, to break in focsle deck, starboard side of frigate Murray, as whaler is slipped. The ship is underway at slow speed, and the shot is unsteady. Sequence repeated with frigate hove to - shot steady. Whaler is hoisted back.
