Summary: Scenes at Nanga Gaat as 845 Squadron prepares to leave, to be replaced by 848 Squadron.
Description: CUs of 845 Squadron Board and a notice advertising the site "for sale". LS over the airstrip. CU of 848 Squadron's badge on the side of one of their Wessex helicopters. An 848 Wessex (recognition letter P) flies into Nanga Gaat. Several small 'squadron puppies' are led out to welcome the new squadron. HA to native longboats beached below the base - a drum of fuel is hauled up a jackstay rigged between sheers at the top and bottom of the steep bank. Men of 845 Squadron emerge from Belaga bazaar carrying souvenir spears, shields, etc. Sequence showing a memorial service held on 14 June for those who lost their lives in a double crash - representatives of 2nd Parachute Regiment, some of whose men were also killed, attend the unveiling of a small memorial. HA aerial sequence showing Wessex 'O' in flight over the jungle - the helicopter follows the course of a river to reach one of the Iban villages. 'O' alights, and members of 845 enjoy open-air drinks with the Ibans. After the farewell party at the longhouse the Wessex returns to base.
