Description: HDML.1249 lies alongside with its Royal Naval crew fallen in on the quarterdeck. On the quayside a Royal Marine band strikes up and guard of honour presents arms as a French Vice-Admiral arrives and greets his British colleague, a Rear-Admiral. The White Ensign is lowered and the British leave the boat. The French go onboard and their national ensign if broken out. The launch casts off and makes away. The film sequences are not arranged chronologically, and are intercut with shots of native labourers unloading stores from a merchantman, and some general views over the city, seen from the harbour.
