Summary: HMS Kenya arrives in Mombasa, 23rd October, 1952.
Description: Desmond O'Hagan (Provincial Commissioner for the Coast Province and Chairman of the Emergency Defence Committee) arrives at 0700, and departs immediately after after colours. Lieutenant General Sir Alexander Cameron (GOC East Africa Command) arrives; his Guard is inspected. Rehearsal alongside ship at 1100 for three mile route march through Mombasa by 200 officers and men. The march takes place at 1700; salute is taken by Desmond O'Hagan, accompanied by Captain D P Trentham of HMS Kenya.
