Description: LA.MS to forebody of Phantom 012 on Ark Royal - the cockpits are open. CU of the omega flash on the aircraft's tailfin - signifying the last of the Navy's conventional fixed-wing fighters - and the carrier's code letter 'R'. CU of the ROYAL NAVY inscription on the fuselage and the aircraft's serial number XV 568. Aircrew walk out onto deck - one of them checks the aircraft. HA.CU of the observer in cockpit. Pilot emplanes. A flightdeck engineer directs 012 onto the waist catapult - when correctly positioned 012 extends the nose leg. Catapult crew attach the bridle. FDO drops his flag and 012 is launched, the camera panning to hold on the aircraft as it climbs away. 012 flies past - once slowly with undercarriage and hook down, and once on full afterburner. Cut to HA camera - 012 taxies to waist catapult - 012 ready to go, stropped up with nose leg extended - 012 launched - slow and high-speed flypasts.
