Summary: Unedited scenes at a Naval Air Station.
Description: I. Naval sports meeting. Contestants - mainly WRNS - participate in sack race, double hoop, flat race, obstacle race, three legged race (Wrens and ratings mixed), and land boat and wheel-barrow races. Brief shots of audience and prize giving ceremony.
II. Crash rescue crews on a naval air station. Staged sequences include: stretcher party receiving unconscious pilot from fireman and carrying him to an ambulance; naval firemen cutting through barbed wire entanglements to reach burning Fulmar; crash tender and ambulance on airfield and speeding along country road; burning aircraft (Nissen hut in background) and petrol fire on grass land: pilot and navigator climb from cockpit of burning Barracuda. MS as FB A1Z explodes, scattering surrounding area with debris, and MCU as firemen blankets aircraft with foam and kick smouldering debris out of the way (cf ADM 691). Firemen approach crashed Seafire and cover it with foam as breakdown lorry, mobile crane, and officer riding a motorcycle, arrive on the scene. Section ends with a brief sequence showing fire engine crews exercising at running out, aiming, and making up hoses against the clock (Anson parked in background).
III. MLS as Seafire XV flies past camera and away over a wood LS-CU as Seafire takes off. (of ADM 695).
