- Description: The Queen and Prince Philip arrive by launch to inspect HMS Duchess. The Flag Officer Flotilla introduces her to some of his Captains. She inspects. In the background can be seen HMS Corunna (D.97) and three other Battle Class destroyers, the depot ship HMS Maidstone, Britannia, and two cruisers, HMS Superb (C.25) and HMS Gambia (C.48). The Queen departs. Cut to HMS Ark Royal - in the foreground is the nose of a Sea Hawk FGA.6 bearing the tiger's face badge of 804 Squadron - pan left to Wyverns of 831 Squadron and an AEW Skyraider of 849B. The Queen's launch approaches from Albion. HA onto RM band on lowered lift - they play as the Queen tours the hangar deck in the Land Rover of the Carrier Borne Ground Liaison Section, which has been unnaturally polished and decorated for the occasion. The Queen is driven past aircrew fallen in on the flightdeck - Captain Hopkins and Admiral Eccles accompany the Queen on her inspection. The inspection ended, the Queen enters the island and crewmen disperse. The ships of the Home Fleet fire a salute as Ark Royal gets underway for a demonstration at sea. HA sequence as 802 Squadron Sea Hawk FB.5s and FGA.6s of 804 Squadron are launched from the two bow catapults. These are followed by the Wyvern S.4s of 831 Squadron - 831's Flook badge is visible on some of the aircraft. The Queen watches from Flying Control. A Gannet AS.1 of 815 Squadron makes a free take-off. LA to Royal Standard. Two Sea Hawks are struck down together on the forward lift. HA.LS to the ship's wake as Sea Hawks fire rockets and Wyverns deliver strafing attacks. Two 898 Squadron FGA.6s land on after the demonstration.
