Summary: Unedited naval scenes: De Havilland Sea Vixens demonstrate their fire power; Type 12 frigate prepares to fire a Mk 10 Limbo ATW; HMS Brighton raises steam; HMS Girdle Ness test-fires a Seaslug.
Description: I. Sea Vixens fly past the cameraship, HMS Hermes, to fire rockets and cannon into the sea. Four Sea Vixens and four Scimitars fly past in diamond formations - as the Scimitars recede, the wing men peel away.
II. MCU as ratings stream frigate's log in slight sea. Rating in oilskins, bends on and hoists flags from the signal bridge. Lookout on the bridge using binoculars, reports to a companion, wearing earphones, who relays the report.
III. MS aft from the bridge down the starboard side of a Whitby Class frigate, underway in a moderate sea - at the end of the sequence, Limbo ATW trains inboard. MS forward from quarter deck to the starboard Mk 10 Limbo mortar, which is trained flat, loaded with propellant charges, and returned to firing position.
IV. MLS off the port quarter of HMS Bossington (M.1133) conducting an inshore sweep.
V. Engine room of HMS Brighton - EO opens and closes throttle Ahead and Astern, speaks to ERA and moves out up ladder. Scene on the bridge - EO enters to report to the Captain, "Main engines ready for sea." Captain turns to consult chart table. Brighton underway.
VI. MS off the starboard bow of HMS Girdle Ness underway in a calm sea. HA.MS as a Seaslug SAM enters the triple launcher on the focsle - the assembly trains right. MS as the missile is launched. Slow motion sequences: LS to the Sea Fury drone aircraft - missile enters screen left to explode on proximity fuse; MS-LS of Seaslug in flight - boosters fall away and the missile continues under ram-jet power.
