Description: I. Boiler Room of HMS Jupiter. CU of man on watch at central panel. CU of rating sitting, drinking from a mug of tea (cf 8096) - after a long while the seated man turns and smiles broadly to camera. Sequence continues with various views of the men.
II. HMS Jupiter alongside in Port Rashid. A desk has been set up on the flightdeck where short leave men are checked out and quartermaster records loan of ship's equipment - in this case a striped beach umbrella. As part of a camera sequence the quartermaster answers the 'phone and then uses the tannoy to summon CPO Hughes to the flightdeck. Break. Interview with William Pitt from Operations Room, Electronic Warfare Section. He answers questions about the general feeling onboard - the chaps are confident that they could survive a chemical attack. He sends greetings to his parents and his fiancée Maria. Break. Views from the quayside to bows and stern of Jupiter secured alongside, gangway from flightdeck. MS to bridge and pull back to view off port bow.
