Film Number:IWM 1061-02a
Other titles:PICTORIAL NEWS (OFFICIAL) 354-2 (fragment) [Alternative Title]
Summary: I. Newsreel item on French troops guarding an overturned German A7V tank, "made in Germany", Western Front, 8th May 1918.
II. Newsreel item on the visit of the Prince of Wales to the Anglo-French sector of the Italian Front, May 1918.

IV. Newsreel item on British cavalry and other troops on the Western Front, late March-early April 1918.
Description: Close to Villers Bretonneux the tank 'Elfriede', victim of the first tank-to-tank engagement on 24th April, lies on its side with its track mechanism clearly visible.
A view of the mountain area. The Prince walks with his French escort through the snow-covered lower slopes of the area, hardly visible in his heavy winter overcoat.
"The fight for the woods": Cavalrymen, probably of 1st Cavalry Division, canter down the slope in column of twos and move through a wood. Scottish troops, some wounded, "out of the battle and all smiles", grin at the camera.
