II. "The other man's job. Close shave for Tommy." Production of razor blades at a highly automated factory outside London (the Gillette factory on the Great West Road between Osterley and Brentford). Different beard growths are studied. "Unless they can get a comfortable shave every day the fighting men do not feel clean."
III. "Desert Rats in Berlin." Views of devastation in Berlin - Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz and Reichs Chancellery (flashback to Nazi diplomatic reception). Women clear the rubble; others queue for food. Major General Lyne takes the salute as men of the 7th Armoured Division enter the fallen capital and march to the 1870 Victory Column. Raising of Union Jack watched by Generals Weeks, Parks, Baranov and Beauchesne.
