Summary: The tenth in a series of Ministry of Information "news magazine" compilations issued for screening in factory canteens etc.
Description: I. In a scheme sponsored by CEMA, the Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts, the Ballet Rambert visits a Midlands factory. Workers and dancers meet, the company rehearses, then put on a performance of 'Peter and the Wolf' in the canteen.
II. An item showing a photographer taking pictures of a day's work for two women carters, intended for inclusion in 'British Ally', a paper about Britain's war effort published (in Russian) in Moscow.
III. Mechanics in a workshop take their "holiday" by helping bring in the harvest at a volunteer agricultural camp. After film showing them working in the fields and relaxing in the camp, they are seen back at their ordinary jobs, recommending the experience.
IV. The manufacture, from paper, of jettisonable fuel tanks which enable fighters to provide cover for daylight bomber forces up to a greater distance from England. Production techniques are quite well shown.
