Other titles:POST-WAR NAVAL OPERATIONS - MISCELLANEOUS [Allocated Series Title]
Summary: Scenes onboard HMS Victorious when she was operating Scimitars and Sea Venoms - probably in the Mediterranean in late 1959.
Description: Aerial LSs from a helicopter to HMS Victorious (R.38) at sea - a Scimitar F.1 is launched from the port bow catapult, while another waits on the starboard side, wings still folded. A Whirlwind lands on. MS from a low height, the camera aircraft holding station off the carrier's port bow - the flightdeck is empty but for a Sea Venom parked aft. Camera-aircraft moves to a position directly ahead of Victorious - a Scimitar is now parked forward. A Venom overflies the carrier. Onboard shots - a Scimitar flies off the carrier, hook down - presumably a bolter. HA.MS aft as Scimitar 151 lands on, camera panning as it taxies forward, wings folding - two Sea Venoms are parked aft and a Skyraider AEW.1 (WT 951) forward on the portside.
