- Description: I. HA.MS aft from HMS Despatch, across the port quarter of Alynbank, to cargo vessels in the anchorage. MS of A1 caisson 35, and MLS to end caisson A1-60 at harbour entrance - Bar Class boom defence vessel in the background. MS of the juncture between two caissons - waves break between them, throwing up spray. II. Various views of stores pierhead - freighter alongside discharges into Bedford QLs - pan left to USCG 83 ft patrol boats (?), numbers 18 and 38, and some tugs secured inside the pierhead. MS of LSI(H) St Helier riding at anchor. LS pan over the harbour - cargo ships, Fairmile B anti-submarine ML, floating crane, etc. MS as troops move across metal track between linked pierheads. III. 30-cwt lorry passes over camera, and up ramp onto pierhead. LS along Whale roadway to Arromanches - a jeep and an Austin light utility pass the camera, heading towards the shore. A party of sappers inspect roadway and floats. IV. MS from Despatch over Alynbank to passing LSI(H) Isle of Guernsey - LCVP 874 crosses the foreground. V. Shot from foremast, over the starboard quarter of Despatch to Alynbank, and line of blockships - Isle of Guernsey, St Helier, floating crane, various merchantmen and LBVs are visible inside the curve of the gooseberry - camera pans right over the anchorage to show cargo vessels, two US rescue tugs, ATR.4 and 15, alongside a King Salvor Class OSV, MLs, etc. HA.MS of A1-35 and adjoining caissons, the sea breaking around them. Sunset in the harbour - low sun effects on the water - MS silhouette as a small merchantman swings about its anchor, the line of caissons in the background. Additional shots of the sea breaking between two caissons, and MS to the harbour entrance.
