Summary: Mute newsreel containing three episodes.
Description: I. King George VI visits naval establishments in Sussex - the HQ of the RNVR Sussex Division, and HMS King Alfred Training Establishment, Hove. He inspects nurses, WRNS and naval ratings. A section entitled 'Censored Scenes' contains further material on the royal visit, but nothing of a very revelatory nature.
II. Entitled £750,000 Prize Ship Reaches London, this sequence shows details of the SS Uhenfels, a German blockade-runner captured by HMS Hereward in the South Atlantic, on 5 November 1939. The film shows the ship's bell, the maker's plate details of deck structures, and the cargo, stamped 'Product of Iran'.
III. CUs of the Dutch cruiser Java. Shot from a small boat, the film shows good detail although the lighting conditions are poor.
