- Summary: Capital units from the USN and Royal Navy wait in Icelandic waters to prevent German surface raiders breaking out into the sea lanes of the North Atlantic. Cameraship is HMS Berwick part of the 1st Cruiser Squadron attached to the Home Fleet.
- Description: I. Cameraship HMS Berwick at sea - HA to barrel array of forward 8-inch turrets trained over the port bow - they fire nine times and then train inboard. MS of Captain Faulkner on the bridge. II. Hvalfjord. MS aft down the starboard side of Berwick to the US cruiser USS Wichita steaming left to right across anchorage - she is followed by another cruiser USS Tuscaloosa. LS to a second County Class cruiser HMS Suffolk - in the background are USS Mississippi, HMS King George V, a third County Class cruiser and, as the camera pans right, some destroyers, the carrier HMS Victorious, and battleship USS Idaho. The cameraship steams across the fjord, passing across the bows of USS Idaho lying at anchor with a Bristol Class (?) destroyer alongside - the cable of Idaho's stem anchor is being hosed down. Berwick passes to port of USS Mississippi, which also has a destroyer lying alongside - in the background is HMS Sheffield. LS off the port bow of HMS Victorious. LS pan from Suffolk, past USS Mississippi to third County Class (this ship without hangar) with destroyer alongside. Berwick passes astern of HMS King George V. III. At sea. HA over focsle and over 4-inch gun deck to surface of the sea - the ship is passing through light pan ice. Cut to LS off the starboard quarter of HMS Duke of York underway with an escorting destroyer on open sea. Onboard Berwick, A and B turrets train over the starboard bow preparatory to a shoot. IV. Iceland. MS forward over focsle as HMS Suffolk passes left to right through the screen - snow-bound coast in the background. V. Launching of the Flower Class corvette HMS Pink at the yard of H Robb (Leith) on 16 February, 1942. A formidable lady christens the ship. Customary shots of the vessel sliding down the slip and riding in the freeway, a tug in attendance.
