Summary: The first three Phantom F-4Ks are flown in to Yeovilton by US pilots. The Phantoms are escorted by two Sea Vixens and aerial film is taken from a Hunter T.8. On arrival at Yeovilton there is a small celebration on the airstrip.
Description: Aerial sequence showing three Phantom F-4Ks flying in arrow formation with an escorting Sea Vixen FAW.2 on either side - the weather is dull and overcast. The Phantoms lower their undercarriages as they approach Yeovilton. Cut to camera beside the landing strip at RNAS Yeovilton - the formation of five aircraft pass overhead, the camera plane off to port. The Phantoms land, throwing up clouds of spray from the wet strip. The US pilots are greeted by a Captain and a Rear-Admiral - probably Yeovilton's Captain G C Baldwin and the Flag Officer Naval Flying Training, Rear-Admiral Roberts. Sequence showing air controllers in the tower at Yeovilton, awaiting the arrival of the aircraft. Spectators watch from the shelter of one of the hangars. Sequence showing again the arrival of the Phantoms - they taxi up to park in front of the camera and pilots and observers deplane. The crew-cut Americans are given celebratory glasses of champagne.
