- Description: I. LS over heavy sea to destroyer, HMCS Cayuga. MS off the port bow of USS Douglas A Munro (422) as she closes on the cameraship, HMS Glory. A jackstay is rigged, and the hauling party, all wearing cold weather gear, bring officer across from Munro. Man semaphores from the US frigate. Visitor returns to the Munro. II. Senior officers from HMCS Cayuga visit island - possibly Cho-do or Sok-to. Sequence onboard No 2 LCP(L) from US LST 692 as the craft makes away from HMCS Cayuga with a party of three RCN officers: Captain of the Cayuga, Commander J Plomer, Navigational Officer, Lieutenant P G Chance, and Lieutenant J G Waters. Commander Plomer wades ashore through shallows onto a beach, where he removes his sea-boots to let the water drain from them. Commander Plomer and his party confer with the island's ROK garrison commander. III. Brief shot from focsle of Cayuga down the starboard side - A and B trained over the beam. IV. Sequence showing Rear-Admiral Scott-Moncrieff on the bridge of Cayuga - he looks out through binoculars, before turning to look into the camera - HMS Ceylon visible in the background. Scott-Moncrieff prepares to leave in a motor launch to rejoin Ceylon - twice the Admiral directs the cameraman's attention to Commander Plomer and his officers. V. Continuation of II. RCN party with US troops on the island. The visitors try their hands on a grenade range - a US sergeant uses his cap to swat a small Korean boy who wanders into frame. Naval party board a jeep ready to depart. VI. Salvage of a crashed Sea Fury. MLS from LCM to shore as the craft enters a small harbour. Party from HMS Unicorn disembark with US and ROK troops. Two jeeps carry the visitors up from the beach, one becoming temporarily stuck in the soft sand. Sequence showing Sea Fury WE 688 from HMS Glory belly landed on the island - the after part of the fuselage and tailplane has been removed and stands neatly up-ended - the aircraft is supported by sandbags and oil drums. The party prepares demolition charges. Tailplane unit is loaded onto the back of a small truck. Party pack sandbags around the aircraft's engine. Final LS to the aircraft lying on low ground - presumably about to be destroyed by the explosive charges. VII. Commander Plomer and a USN Lieutenant walk together through a Korean village - Plomer has come ashore to inspect a damaged boat. The Commander heaves on a line with some of his crew - LCM in the background. MS of men playing US football.
