Description: A series of short sequences, each introduced by superimposed titles giving the name or type of the ship. (i) HMS Blake. Aerial sequence showing the helicopter cruiser steaming with RFAs Resource and Black Ranger in line abreast to starboard. HA of the gap between Blake and Resource. (ii) A Class submarine prepares for action in tropical waters. LS as submarine begins to dive. Cut to CUs of captain at periscope, combined with XLS of a ship in circular mask to simulate a periscope view. Underwater sequence as a torpedo is fired from starboard tube. (iii) HMS Dido. Aerial view of the frigate. CU of Seacat aimer, and cut to view aft as missile is fired to port and climbs away (not from Dido but from the test ship HMS Decoy). XLS of aerial interception. Men lock a reload into the missile launcher which trains over the ship's side. (iv) HMS Hampshire. LS of the destroyer at sea. Interior of the ship's operations room intercut with shots of Seaslug loading, the launcher training, the missile ready in the launcher, and the missile launch. (v) HMS Dreadnought. Underwater sequence with a model. Interior control room. Planesman at controls. Shot through periscope as submarine surfaces. Aerial MS of Dreadnought on the surface. (vi) HMS Bulwark. Aerial LS of the commando carrier anchored off coast. Onboard, marines run to board Wessex HU.5 'M' of 846 Squadron. Wessex 'P' lifts off. Helicopter 'U' picks up a laden cargo net. (vii) HMS Resolution. Underwater sequence showing the launch of a Polaris A2. An A3 missile breaks the surface of the sea and climbs away. (viii) HMS Galatea. Aerial LS of the frigate at sea, and shot to focsle as she fires twin 4.5-inch Mark 6 gun over starboard bow. CU of the stern and the wall for VDS gear. General view of the frigate as she continues to fire 4.5-inch gun - Wasp helicopter parked on flightdeck aft.
