Summary: Rushes from Operation Grapple X, conducted on 8 November 1957 at Christmas Island in the South Pacific. Filmed at two different sites 'A' and 'B', using Vinten V.300 cameras at a variety of different speeds, from 100 to 280 frames per second.
Description: Successive heavily filtered shots of the explosion in its early stages. Film shows some strange structure in the fireball which may be real, or may have something to do with the natural clouds which partly obscure the vision.
