Description: I. Men serving with 3rd Division units and 5th King's Regiment box, play football and card-games in A6 Camp near Portsmouth.
II. The cameraman's craft passes HMS Glenearn in the Solent. Troops from No 5 Beach Group and 1st Battalion Suffolk Regiment board HMS Empire Broadsword from a paddle steamer. RM LCOCU divers (?) are briefed on the LSI(L). Infantry board the assault ship's LCA which are lowered from their davits and taken on practice voyages. Cameraman examines an Oerlikon AA position. An oil tanker, two 'War Emergency' destroyers, three other assault ships from Assault Group S.3, an Admiralty tug towing 'Whale' floating road sections, a United States Navy LCI and Empire Broadsword's own craft can be seen. On board ship, Royal Marines attend parade and sing songs with an accordion player. A 1st Suffolk platoon performs rifle drill and physical training. Several Oerlikon cannon, a Bofors gun (with ring sight) and a four inch gun, constituting part of the ship's armament, can be seen. Oerlikon ammunition is unpacked and placed in ready-use ammunition lockers.
III. Beach Group troops disembark from Broadsword onto an LCT which makes for a beach west of Littlehampton. Beach Group sappers lay tracking for light vehicles on sand.
