Summary: Story of how some Norwegian fishermen outwitted the Nazis occupying their village, told by a Norwegian commando to English colleagues on a ship bound for Norway.
Description: A Norwegian fishing village is being starved into submission under the German policy of Pacification. Villagers waiting for fishermen to return spit at Norwegian 'quisling' in German uniform. Nazis stand in harbour. (Reel 2) Fishing boats return - the Nazis force the fishermen to load entire catch into lorries. Rebelling, the men tip the fish back into the water; Nazis shoot villagers. One fisherman, armed with stolen guns, is chased and shot by the quisling. His body is taken back to the village. (Reel 3) A Nazi declaration that all future fishing will be under their supervision prompts a secret meeting of fishermen. Next day, the fishing fleet goes out to sea accompanied by armed Germans in boat. At sea, the men stop engines and refuse to move. (Reel 4) The Germans open fire but the fishermen skilfully box in the German craft with their boats, storm aboard, overpower Germans and quisling, and throw them overboard. The Norwegian flag is run up the mast, "symbol of our victory".
