The Balkan wars of 1912, the development of Germany's Navy, and the inauguration of President Woodrow Wilson. III. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and the outbreak of war. IV. The war at sea, showing the various naval personalities, the Battle of Jutland (faked) and the sinking of the Austro-Hungarian ship Szent Istvan (or Sankt Stefan) V. The war in the air, showing the aces of both sides and a Zeppelin raid on London (faked). VI. The war under the sea, Germany's use of unrestricted submarine warfare leads to Wilson declaring war, and the despatch of American land and naval forces to Europe. VII. The build-up of the American forces in Europe by convoy across the Atlantic, fighting off submarine attacks (faked). VIII. The last film of the Tsar and his family before the Russian Revolution, followed by the appearance of new leaders such as Kerensky, Trotsky and Lenin. IX. The appointment of Foch as Generalissimo of the Allied armies as a consequence of the German offensive of March 1918. The arrival of substantial American forces. X. The German offensive of March-June 1918 leading to the Allied counter-offensive of July-November 1918, shown as a mixture of small fights by soldiers of all nationalities. XI. The Armistice, with peace established, but the growing threat of war as militarism and aggression increases up to the present day (1934).
