Identifiable among the many British, Canadian and US Army officers taking a 'breather' in the front of Southwick House after a long conference are Major-General Dennis, senior Royal Artillery commander, and Major-General Richards, his counterpart in the Royal Armoured Corps (both seen in conversation emerging from the house), Lieutenant-Colonel Gannon, Deputy Military Secretary (wearing a black beret), Major-General Inglis, senior Royal Engineers commander (wearing a brown beret), Major-General White, Chief Signals Officer (similar in appearance to de Guingand) and Brigadier Belchem, Operations staff officer, seen here in conversation with Major-General de Guingand, Montgomery's Chief of Staff, Major-General Dennis and Major-General Miles Graham, 21st Army Group's chief of administration.
