Description: (Reel 1) Starting with the King, in Field Marshal's uniform, decorating soldiers in Ibrox Park, Glasgow, on 18 September, assisted by Lieutenant-General Sir J S Ewart, commanding Central Scottish Command. Among those receiving decorations are Private George McIntosh of the Gordon Highlanders and Sergeant Sam Frickleton of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, both VCs. The next scene is the King in Admiral's uniform on 17 September greeting a group of workers, possibly at J G Kincaid & Co of Greenock. Next, the King in Field Marshal's uniform on 18 September leaving Kirklees station with his staff, and again at Ibrox Park. Lord Strathclyde is awarded a GCBE and Sir John S Samuel a KBE. Lizzie Robinson is awarded the Order of the British Empire. Private Harry Christian, Royal Lancashire Fusiliers, carried on a litter, is given a Victoria Cross. (Reel 2) The King in Field Marshal's uniform on 18 September at the Greenock & Grangemouth Dockyard (?), talking to a riveter of Messrs Boys, Gilson Ltd. The King in Field Marshal's uniform at the Clydeside Steel Works on 19 September. In Admiral's uniform again on 20 September the King drives past a cheering crowd and meets with Mercantile Marines at Central Station, Glasgow. A final return to Ibrox Park where the King inspects the guard of honour from "the Highland Regiment" (Highland Light Infantry ?). In Field Marshal's uniform on 19 September the King visits the Lanarkshire Steel Company smelting works and other factories in Motherwell, Mossend and Cathcart, including the laying of the foundation stone at the new Beardmore & Co works, assisted by Sir William Beardmore. The King in Admiral's uniform on 20 September visits the Dunsmuir & Jackson works. The film ends with the Royal Standard flying.
