Description: Short Stirlings towing Horsa gliders carrying elements of 1st Airlanding Brigade and 1st Airborne Division troops cross the Dutch coast over Schouwen island. Gliders land on Renkum Heath while American Dakotas drop the 1st Parachute Brigade near Heelsum. A jeep is unloaded from a dismantled Horsa. Paratroopers (1st Parachute Battalion ?) fraternise with Dutch civilians and move through the woods near Wolfheze. A wounded Waffen-SS trooper, elderly Wehrmacht conscripts, collaborators and Luftwaffe servicewomen are taken prisoner.Paratroopers have mugs of tea and guard prisoners. Medical personnel and wounded are seen inside an improvised field hospital in a suburban house at Wolfheze. On September 18th, a paratrooper guards 1st Airlanding Brigade HQ at Wolfheze; inside, Brigadier Hicks confers with his officers. 1st Recce Company men wait in jeeps to go into Arnhem. Two 'Phantom' signallers operate their radio set. Stirlings fly overhead to drop supplies. A Dutchman destroys a portrait of Goering. The 3rd Parachute Battalion advances along the main Utrecht-Arnhem road into Heelsum where prisoners are taken. German corpses, including those of Major-General Kussin and his driver, line the battalion's route into Oosterbeek. Casualties arrive at a dressing station set up outside Oosterbeek.
