Summary: A military training film dramatising the story of two men left alone to establish the enemy's position several miles away, after the death of their CO and many of their unit. The success of the mission being dependent on their application of the principles of camouflage and fieldcraft.
Description: Reel one: Illustrating fieldcraft - movement across open spaces; keeping watch overnight; use of the aerial recce photograph; avoidance of the enemy's morning patrol.
Reel two: Use of the environment for camouflage; establishment of the best position to view the enemy's movements.
Reel three: Crossing valley to the best observation point involving crawling in the ditch, crossing gaps in the cover; keeping guard for one another; tracking the enemy; ensuring no trace of one's presence is left eg cigarette butts, Terry's chocolate wrapper; use of sterilisation tablets; rations.
