Summary: Dramatised Army Instructional film, explaining the difference between deliberate and quick fireplans and showing an example of a quick fireplan in use. An advancing infantry company, supported by Centurion tanks, comes under heavy fire and uses the company's attached Forward Observation Officer (FOO) to quickly bring down supporting artillery fire. When additional enemy units open fire a greater weight of artillery fire is needed, and the battalion commander is able to plan accordingly. The procedures by which attacking infantry and armoured units in the field are able to co-ordinate their advance with artillery units are shown in some detail and reviewed at the end of the film.
