Summary: Partially Dramatised Army Instructional film on the capabilities and technicalities of aerial reconnaissance. In the first part the advantages and constraints of different types of aerial photography are considered, the chain of command through which requests for reconnaissance are processed is explained and the aircraft available, the Supermarine Swift, English Electric Canberra, Vickers Valiant and Auster, appear briefly. The briefing and debriefing of pilots and the processing and dissemination of information is shown in a dramatised format. The second part uses a fictitious situation to illustrate the points already made. A patrol on the ground locates an enemy convoy but is unable to obtain all the required information. A Supermarine Swift is despatched to photograph the area, and on the basis of the information gained the enemy convoy, now identified as an armoured division, is subjected to nuclear attack.
